The Mountain and The Cloud - POEM

I was in Oaxaca with a very dear soul mate and as we left our hostel to go and buy some food, we watched as a beautiful, delicate wisp of cloud carved it’s way through the thick greenery that covered the opposing mountain. I half-joked in complete sincerity at how sexy it looked… and we both enjoyed the idea that the mountain and the cloud were actually intimate lovers and had been since the Earth first formed.

That idea lead to this little piece that I wrote at a later date, when in California, witnessing once again the sweet caress of the cloud and the mountain.

The Mountain and The Cloud.

There was the mountain,
That rose from below to stand up high.
Standing solid and strong,
Through the chambers of time.
The mountain became home to thousands of trees.
The trees became home to a million and more species.
The mountain became parent to the birds and the bees.
As tree branches waved, caressed by the breeze,
The delicate fingers of fog combing through with ease,
Sliding through, tickling all the trees leaves,
Gliding and colliding like lovers in ecstasy.
There was the mountain and the cloud -
Ancient lovers throughout eternity.

^^ Unfortunately we didn’t take a photo of the original cloud and mountain in Oaxaca - However I captured many photos of the same theme since. This one was taken from the top of Acatananga - A volcano in Guatemala. Pretty sexy couple right?? ♥
